What if I return my car late?
Your grace period, and how to avoid receiving a late fine of $25
Return your GoGet car to its correct location and tap off with your smartcard within your booking time.
If you tap off late, you'll incur a $25 late fine plus charges for the extra time used.
It's important to return your booked car on time, as returning it late could impact a member who booked the vehicle after you and it will incur late fees.
Remember: you should only tap on/tap off within the time you have booked the vehicle for.
- If you tap on before the start of your booking, our the system will calculate that your booking started earlier
- If you tap off after your booking has ended, our system will calculate that you've returned the vehicle late

If you can't return the vehicle in time, try:
- Extending the booking
- If that’s not possible, call us immediately - depending on the situation, we may be able to waive the fine.

If you tap off late, you'll be charged a fine plus the charges for the additional time used.
The system will round your booking up to the nearest 30-minute block.
For example:
- Original booking: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
- You return at 8:10 pm
- Chargeable time becomes until 8:30 pm \+ $25 late fine

Tips to avoid a late return charge
- Add buffer time to your booking for traffic, refueling, or delays
- Double check your booking start and end time in the app or your booking confrimation email to avoid mistakes
- Always tap off when you're done so the system knows the vehicle is returned
- Enable Push notifications to receive booking start and end time reminders
