A guide to ending your GoGet reservation

When you're done, follow these steps to properly end your GoGet booking

  1. Fuel up
    Make sure the car has at least a ¼ tank of fuel. If you leave the tank below ¼ you may be fined.
  2. Switch everything off
    Turn off the engine, lights and any other accessories.

For push-button hybrid vehicles: make sure the engine is fully off (otherwise you may be unable to tap off or the battery may go flat).

  1. Take your rubbish with you
    Take all personal items and rubbish with you.
  2. Return to correct location
    Park the car at the location shown in your app / booking confirmation. Remember all GoGet bookings are round trip bookings so you will need to bring it back to where you collected it from.
  3. Tap off / lock the car
    Use your GoGet smartcard (or app) to tap off / lock the car when your booking ends - this lets us know your trip is finished.

Things to Watch Out For / Troubleshooting

  • Late tap-off = fine
    If you tap off after your booking has ended, a late fine will apply.
  • Leaving the car running = fine
    Please double check you have turned the engine off - especially in the quieter hybrid models. Failure to do so may reuslt in a flat battery which will incur a fine.
  • Can’t tap off / can’t lock?
    • Double-check that the engine is off (especially for hybrids).
    • If the car still won’t lock or tap off, please call us immediately at 1300 769 389.
