Explaining how Location Surcharges work in the City of Melbourne

We introduced a Location Surcharge on a number of City of Melbourne locations in February 2023. These surcharges pass on the higher costs for these bays from the City of Melbourne. The surcharge amount is based on how much a particular bay costs.

What is the Surcharge amount?

The surcharge ranges from an additional $1.50/hour capped at $9/day to $2.50/hour capped at $15/day. The surcharge amount depends on the cost to GoGet.

How do I see which GoGet locations have a Location Surcharge?

The app and website will display a Location Surcharge badge below the car name.

How do I know how much my booking will cost?

The minimum booking cost will be displayed before you confirm your booking. If you click on the booking amount, it will show you a breakdown of how the cost is calculated, including the location surcharge amount.
